Senior Network Cyber Security Engineer

You are an experienced network cybersecurity professional who not only responds to threats but also actively works to prevent them. • Developing and submitting security configurations and operational standards for security systems and applications, including policy evaluation and compliance tools;
• Developing and proposing baseline security configurations for operating systems, applications, and network and communications equipment;
• Conducting technical security audits;
• Analyzing log files and monitoring security;
• Proactively collaborating with clients to provide high-quality advice and assurance regarding management and technical challenges within cybersecurity and IT and OT risks;
• Identifying, analyzing, and translating cybersecurity and IT/OT risks into practical solutions;
• Communicating relevant cybersecurity and IT/OT risk issues and recommendations to internal and external IT professionals;
• Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the further development of internal security practices.

• You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, cybersecurity, engineering, or equivalent experience:
• You have at least 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in IT and/or OT security, with a strong focus on network security;
• You are fluent in Dutch, English, and French;
• You have demonstrable hands-on experience with Fortinet solutions; this is a must. In particular, you are familiar with FortiGate (firewalling, VPN, segmentation), FortiSwitch (network switching and management), and FortiAP (wireless access and security);
• You are familiar with methods and tools for security risk management, network protocols, and application communication;
• You have a good knowledge of the following security technologies: SIEM, firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, security information and event management, identity and access management, remote access methods, wireless protocols, and services;
• You have a solid understanding of backup and disaster recovery methodologies, business continuity planning, and governance;
• You can work independently but are also a true team player;
• Maturity and a professional approach are essential for us.
